Management

• Apply lukewarm, wet compresses over the eyes for 5 to 10 minutes, 4 to 6 times a day.
• Don't squeeze the stye . Let it open on its own
• Don't wear eye makeup or contact lenses until the area has healed

Prevention

1. Never rub your eyes. This can irritate your eyes and let in bacteria.
2. Protect your eyes from dust and air pollution when you can
3. Wear safety glasses when you do dusty household tasks
4. Replace eye makeup at least every 4 to 6 months. Bacteria can grow in the makeup.
5. Wash your eyelids regularly with a little bit of baby shampoo mixed in warm water
6. Treat any eyelid inflammation or infection on time
