HOMOEOPATHY FOR CONJUNCTIVITIS OR PINK EYE OR STICKY EYE IN KIDS

Conjunctivitis is an inflammation (swelling and redness) conjunctiva (clear layer membrane of eye) which covers the white part of the eye as well as the lining of the eyelids.

Causes

  1. Bacterial conjunctivitis

Signs and symptoms

Bacterial conjunctivitis
  • Inflammation starts in one eye and spreads to the second eye.
  • Redness, swelling of eyes
  • Sensation as if having sand in eyes (gritty)
  • clear, green or yellow (pus-like) discharge.
  • Discharge can form a crust overnight and cause the eyelids to stick together


Viral conjunctivitis
  1. Inflammation present in one eye
  2. Sensation as if having sand in eyes (gritty)
  3. Redness, swelling of eyes
  4. watery discharge
  5. Associated with flu-like illness.


Allergic conjunctivitis
  •  Redness and swelling of eyes
  •  itchy and watery eyes
  • itchy nose and sneezing


Blockage of tear duct
  1. This condition occurs in newly born babies.
  2. Redness of eyes
  3. sticky eyes due to mucous discharge


Chemicals
  1. Sometimes chemicals enter into the eye which causes severe pain and watery discharge from eyes.


Trauma to the eye or foreign body in the eye
  • Irritation and redness of eyes
  • Tears from eyes

  • wash your child’s pillowcases frequently
  • wash your child’s hands often
  • Don’t share eye drops, towels and pillow slips
  • Proper use and care of contact lenses
